Scout badges
Some of the scout badges are official and regulatory badges, including the embroidered WOSM badge and the embroidered WAGGGS badge. The first is a symbol of the organization associating all scouts from around the world - ZHP also belongs to it. The second organization - WAGGGS associates only girls and female scout teams. That is why it is accepted in Poland that girls have a WAGGGS badge sewn on their uniforms, and boys have the WOSM badge. Other official scout pins include rescue badges, badges with cub stars or the Polish flag, or marks of service for travelers. In addition, in our scout shop you will find less official scout pins and badges - popular button-pins with many colorful patterns or metal pins with the ZHP logo and various different scout pins.
Many of the presented badges are awarded by the Team Leader and only he has the right to give it to us. So remember not to pin everything you can get your hands on to your uniform - it will not always look good, and it may also be against the scout rules or even with the uniform regulations. If you have doubts about what badge to buy and which you can attach to the uniform, please contact the Team Leader or our scout shop staff - if in doubt, do not hesitate and write to shop@scoutshop.me.
Scouting crosses, cub scout and fleur-de-lis badges
In our offer we also have scouting crosses and cub scout badges which are the two most important symbols for every scout. Obtained after making the Cub Scout Promise or the Scout and Guide Promise. They prove that we have adopted and intend to follow the Scout and Guide Law.
Badges of cub scout ranks and scout and guide ranks symbolize our work on ourselves and gaining new skills. Every bridesmaid and friend, joining the scout ranks at the very beginning knows what the symbolism and weight of the awards received are. Moreover, degrees are ennoblement and a kind of merit for service that is carried with pride and dignity.
But that's not all. We can also offer a variety of fleur-de-lis badges which are most characteristic badges for scouts. It is modeled on a stylized compass needle - so that it always points in the right direction. The origins of the fleur-de-lis are not entirely certain. It is supposed that its prototype is in the yellow iris flower. The symbol of fleur-de-lis appears in the Middle Ages on many coats of arms of many families and dynasties and hence the fleur-de-lis appeared on the compass. It was popularized in scouting by General Robert Baden-Powell himself, using it for the first time as a badge in the army in which he served and later in the scouting movement he founded.
The fleur-de-lis is usually made of silver-colored metal, but there are also golden patterns. The golden scout lily is an Scout Leader's symbol. Another characteristic feature is the type of two lily fasteners that is fastened with a pin with a latch and with two soft wires. The latter solution protects against accidental twisting of the badge.
Fleur-de-lys are pinned by girl scouts and boy scouts on uniforms, berets and hats. Interestingly, they are the first symbolic sign that a young man encounters. It can be said that this is the first level of initiation in this wonderful youth scout movement. The lily on the uniform is awarded by the Team Leader. After receiving it, we can also attach the lily to a beret or a cap.
