History of T-shirt

How was the T-shirt made and where the idea for it came from. The short-sleeved T-shirt, so popular today, was first a piece of underwear. In the past, both women and men wore union suits under their everyday clothes. It was a one-piece suit - a combination of underpants and a long-sleeved T-shirt - completely covering the body, except for the feet, hands, head and neck. It was put on from the bottom, and the shirt itself was fastened with buttons. At the beginning of the 20th century, the first two-piece set for men was created, with the jersey being separate. This is actually how the first T-shirt was made - still with long sleeves. Shortly after that, the short-sleeved version was created. Although it was still an element treated as underwear - it was assumed to be under other clothes - T-shirt was more and more often worn alone. First for work and sports. Thanks to the media and the growing pop culture, the T-shirt has been popularized and has become a very fashionable element of everyday and comfortable clothing. There is also the issue of colors and prints. At the beginning, the prints were mainly advertising or limited to the company's logo. In the 1960s, there was a sharp boom in popularity of printing trendy slogans or slogans politically or socially engaged.

Today, a short-sleeved T-shirt is an element of expression of our preferences and views. Many colorful T-shirts are just a matter of aesthetics, but many different patterns refer to elements of pop culture or a specific subculture. Many organizations or other groups of people even decide to order their own T-shirts with their own original designs.

Scout T-shirts are a very good example. In sociological terms, scouting is also a subculture. We have our own specific and common behaviors, tastes and worldviews.
